Sharing service and care diagnostics from an automotive or agricultural dealership back to the manufacturer is an important practice. It allows manufacturers to analyse data that they would otherwise be unaware of, as well as provide support and guidance to the dealership when any maintenance and warranty issues occur.
Before any analytics can be reported to the manufacturer, a dealership’s mechanics will use diagnostic tools with fit-for-purpose software to access a vehicle or machine’s computers and sensors. The tools will detect faults and produce insights into the condition and performance of the engine, transmission, brakes, and much more. Reporting this information requires connecting the dealership’s diagnostic and warranty systems to the manufacturer via dedicated communication services.
The role of Xenex Systems in this process is to build networks and server systems that integrate communication services into Dealer Management Systems (DMS) such as Pentana Solutions, Auto-IT and Titan. Each manufacturer has different methods and requirements for connecting back to their internal services, so the team at Xenex will either install our own communication services into the dealership or utilise the manufacturer’s private Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) service.
As specialists in automotive IT, we use our experience and competence to coordinate the process from start to finish. We first liaise with the manufacturer’s technical team to discuss their unique requirements and obtain their communication equipment. We then install and integrate this into the client’s network as required. Once installed and connectivity is achieved between the dealership and the manufacturer, we program and test internal network settings to ensure that each application and system can resolve and connect back to the manufacturer.
This is a unique service that Xenex offers. We are one of a small number of IT companies in Australia that have experience with the primary DMS providers and a variety of alternative franchises and systems. Our Director, Robert Da Re, previously worked at Pentana Solutions as a Network and Systems Engineer and also in their Technical Sales team, so he brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise to give Xenex a unique perspective on the automotive industry’s diagnostic requirements.
Xenex has experience in integrating IT systems with automotive and agricultural powerhouses such as Ford, Volkswagen, Mazda, Holden, Mercedes, Kia, Mitsubishi, Toyota, John Deere, New Holland and Case IH.
